It amazes me how many people do not understand the reasoning behind tariffs. A tariff raises the price of a product to the point that MOST consumers will opt not to purchase it. This action causes a significant decrease in sales of the product, causing economic strain on the importing Country and their businesses. If the cost of a vehicle goes up $2,000, I won't buy the vehicle, that simple. There may be some minor increases on everyday items, which is unfortunate but a necessary evil. Increase the tariffs to 100% and watch the leaders of the other countries beg for relief.
