They were talking about making car manufacturers "responsible" for coming up with a system to avoid this problem. Although it is a sad thing, other than the safety associated with moving and stopping the car, manufacturers shouldn't be on the hook for inattentive parents. I think the government has done way too much to alter the path of natural selection. It's always "someone else's fault."
