Regarding all the public safety spouts about constables, Dennis, Upper and Woodbine will never establish their own police department due to substantial tax increases. Granted, constables on patrol would not have full police powers, but retired police officers (not political hacks) would be a valuable upgrade to assist troopers who are a very spread-out resource in these three municipalities. This option is affordable, and considering the more dangerous times we live in, I say go for it. Also, there are many retired, highly-trained law enforcement people in Dennis who would apply.
