It is great to see that a major clean-up effort is ongoing at the Beaver Swamp Wildlife Management Area on SH 83. Judging by the huge pile of car tires awaiting pick-up and disposal, there certainly is a large number of motorized vehicles (trucks, jeeps, ATVs) disregarding the law which prohibits all such vehicles. This area is supposed to be about eagles, hikers, mountain bikes, etc. It is not a dump, and when caught, these people should be fined heavily and made to pay for clean-up costs. State officials do investigate when illegal vehicle entry is observed and reported by phone or letter.
