Del Haven - As a teacher, I agree with Bruce Allen’s letter to the editor in that our high school students deserve a better education. For example, had Mr. Allen studied geography, he would know the policies of his model welfare states are incredibly dissimilar from one another and those proposed here. Most of these countries are also less diverse than the U.S., report lower median wages, and have less progressive tax rates. In Sweden, anyone making over $2,300 pays a tax rate of 30%, plus payroll taxes. Can you see voters of either party agreeing to that? Me neither. That’s why I’m giving Mr. Allen a D+.
