Del Haven - To the Cape May Point spouter who says they worked hard to pay off college loans. Good for you, I did too. We should be proud, however the student debt problem is not that simple. The federal student loan program was created in the 1970s with good intentions, but greed produced less-than-good consequences. The cost of college and student debt has grown astronomically. Sallie Mae and other big banks have raked in the profits, while students are trapped in mountains of life-altering debt. I don't think 10,000 in loan forgiveness is the answer, but may be a start to a big debt crisis.
