Currently Sea Isle has 3 City Council members serving their 5th terms and a Mayor serving his 9th consecutive term. Maybe it’s time for Sea Isle to have a serious conversation about term limits for both the Mayor and City Council. New voices, new ideas, and regular leadership transitions are key to ensuring accountability and preventing stagnation in local government.Term limits can create opportunities for new people to step forward, serve their community, and bring different perspectives to the table. Maybe it’s time to ask: How long is too long?
