The Kansas referendum was not a magnanimous gesture to allow voters to decide abortion rights, it was a backhanded attempt by the Kansas legislature to remove the right to an abortion from the Kansas Constitution, with a deceptively worded voter initiative question, designed to take that right away, and put control of abortion into the hands of the Kansas Legislature. Want proof, look at all the R. Legislatures in States without a Constitutional right enacting bans on abortion, sans vote.
