Part of the license fee for unaltered dogs goes to a special spay/neuter fund performed at local veterinary offices. Loose dogs wearing their licenses are able to go home without a stop at a shelter. The state of NJ requires licenses. License fees help to defray the cost of animal control. For the well-being of your dog, be sure s/he is licensed.
