Court House - To the Spouter saying: “You're incorrect. "Disenfranchisement" is taking away the right to vote.” “Disenfranchised” is not a concept solely applying to “voting”. Taking away what once one had as either a “right” or a “privilege”, whatever it may be, is also disenfranchisement. (Ex: States are currently stripping women of their medical right to self-determination by restricting, or outlawing abortions.) I’m pretty sure those women are feeling disenfranchised of their former rights. Voter suppression; strict voter ID laws, cuts to early voting, mass purges, are all attempts to disenfranchise.
