Court House - As someone who has been audited by the IRS 3 times over the course of 50 years, and prevailed each time, I can tell you that you don’t need a lawyer, or a CPA to make your case to the IRS. Pay what you owe on your taxes, keep accurate records, and don’t “fudge” your numbers and you will be fine, and your “case” will most likely be resolved at, or before, your first meeting. Most taxpayers are honest working people, with nothing to hide. It’s the offshore account holding, crypto trading, deduction inflating, income hiding crowd that has to worry, as well they should.
