Court House - So the county had to downsize the new jail because bids came in at $44 million and the county budgeted $37 million. No problem. Between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., six "special" senior staff would take the "special lunch" and their happy meals consisted of prime rib, chicken caesar salad, etc. while officers were eating the equivalent of dog food. When this became too obvious and there was grumbling on the old jail block, happy meals were delivered by cart to the front office. Stop the happy meals. The county will make up that $7 million shortfall in no time and build the jail that this county needs.
