Court House - Re: U Boats off NJ. just read two books, war in the boats by Captain William RUHE, about USA 1994, and U boat command by Jak mellmann showell 1989. It is true that German U-boats were off the coast of Cape May and Florida. It’s also mentioned that Martha’s Vineyard would not turn out their lights because it would’ve interrupt there partying. Germany lost over 500 U-boats. they were very poorly commanded from the higher-ups. The U-boat captains were truly brave men as well as United States for what they went out in it was no better than leaking tub. Truly, the greatest generation.
