Court House - Just like a crying child, a barking dog is telling you that s/he is not comfortable. They are telling you they need attention now. Dogs left alone or outside alone for long periods of time bark to tell the world how lonely they are. Some bark because they need water or food or are hurt somewhere. Sometimes they bark just because they want to be near their caregivers - their family. They bark to tell you that strangers are on your property or to tell intruders to stay away. A barking dog needs care. If you care for your dog, supply that care. If you do not care, find s/he a more loving home.
