Court House - I agree with the HVAC tech. Heat pumps are incredibly efficient these days. They use so much less energy than comparable fossil fuel units. A heat pump can heat and cool, all via a reverser valve. Not possible with a gas or oil furnace. A geothermal unit is the top dog, and all the accessories are in the house envelope, out of salt air.
