Court House - Airline pilots were forced to retire at age 60 (pre 2007). Air traffic controllers 56, Federal Law Enforcement officers, 57 (with 20 years’ service). Various States have mandatory retirement for judges set at 70. So why is it that for “occupations” that affect far more lives than those already mentioned, there's no mandatory retirement age? (SCOTUS, Politicians). Maybe start with a law that any serving politician currently 80 years or older, may not run again when their term is up. For SCOTUS Justices they must begin a 3-year transition period into retirement once they turn 75. It's a start.
