What is happening to Mechanic Street? The sidewalks have been in disrepair for years, the street has numbers painted on it from town fairs and now there is black asphalt in lieu of concrete on the sidewalk. Just down the street, there is a chain-link fence in the front yard of a home. There seems to be a lack of care and cohesive planning by our city engineers, planning, zoning and town council. Missing the days when Dowdy and Delonzo were in charge. There was once talk of Court House being in the running for Main Street assistance. Help is needed ASAP.
