Voters approved the county's open space preservation fund, thinking it would be used to preserve open space. Now the freeholders are wasting our tax dollars on bike paths, piers, boat ramps and athletic fields. This is not what voters wanted the fund to be used for. Every dollar the freeholders waste on "recreational and historical preservation" is one less dollar available to preserve real open space. The fund should be used only to buy and preserve as many acres of open space as possible.
