Upper Township is no longer a rural community and needs to have it's own police force instead of non-residents paying for it in the form of State Police. The township ratables have tripled in the last 10 years and they have the little gold mine of over-taxed homes in Strathmere. Upper also has become a home for druggies and criminals as they know law enforcement is limited. Why should taxpayers from surrounding townships like Middle and other cities in south Jersey pay for Upper's police protection? Why isn't Sen. Van Drew leading this effort?
