Cape May Court House

To the spouter who keeps asking for "constables" in Dennis: While that is a nice-sounding, police-type position, it is not viable for law enforcement. Constables in NJ are appointed through local councils to serve writs, subpoenas, security and are paid by attorneys for their services. They have very limited training and their arrest authority is not that much greater than that of an ordinary citizen. You can't just have a pseudo-police force out working without legal guidelines that include records, arrest procedures, and accountability. Let your taxes go up and start a part-time PD.
