Cape May Court House

To the Spouter suggesting jetties to control Avalon beach erosion. Stone Harbor says they have jetties at 84th, 92nd, 98th, 106th, 111th, 114th, 122nd and 127th Streets. Yet, their beaches are still closed due to erosion from the latest storm. Jetties would need to be spaced so close together as to preclude safely swimming in the ocean from the beach, one of the top reasons people enjoy the shore. Jetties cause cross currents, trenching, and erosion down beach. So, unless you’re willing to pay to build jetties along the entire 130 miles of Atlantic coast of NJ, someone else suffers.
