Sports and the arts in Middle Township schools are all part of the total educational experience. Learning takes place in the classroom, on the band stage and on the athletic fields. To single out the elimination of all sports to save teaching jobs is shortsighted and a ridiculous assumption by Bakely. If you eliminate all sports, music and plays, you will lose a large amount of students, which means a lot less teachers are needed. I'm glad the rest of the board didn't buy that argument. Our kids and teachers deserve better!
