Republicans aren't serious about cutting wasteful federal spending since they resist long, overdue defense spending cuts. Nothing is more bloated than the defense budget. It's corporate welfare for defense contractors that get rich off of our tax dollars. There is no justification for a roughly $700 billion defense budget. Congress needs to stop buying new weapons we don't need and to downsize a ridiculously over sized military. We don't need 11 aircraft carriers and the marines are just a second army. Congress needs to stop being a slave to the military industrial complex.
