Regarding the Confederate flag controversy, I would like to ask those northerners who display it what their stake is in the Confederacy? I am guessing there is none, and that it is used as a symbol of white supremacy. This usage is documented to have surfaced during the 50s and 60s when the struggle for equal rights exploded. I want to commend Republican Governor Niki Haley for standing tall and doing the right thing for her state and for setting a responsible model for others. Symbols of hate and supremacy have no place in our culture.
