The pension issue is about the state and governors obeying the law. Employees had their contributions taken out of their pay every payday. The state promised to make their legal payment obligation but failed for the past dozen or so years. If Governor Christie was still a prosecutor and a private company did this to their employees he would go after them for breaking the law. When he neglects to follow the law, he says it is in his best interest.
