To the M.T. spouter stating no memorial has been dedicated to the 241 marines who died Oct. 23, 1983: You are mistaken. It is located in Jacksonville, NC across the road from the Marine/U.S. Veterans Cemetery. It is a beautiful memorial and helps heal our wounds. I was in Beirut on the ground in 1983 and finally visited the wall in 2005. Yes, it hurt and tears were shed for my brothers and myself. Sometimes a survivor's pain is worse than those that fell. To my fallen brothers: I'll see you on the other side. As a service connected DAV, all I can say is you should really take a trip South.
