Look at all politicians, regardless of party, and you will notice a common thread. They all suffer from a common delusion: "They (us voters who pay the bills) need me because I have the answers." From Roman emperors to kings, the trickle-down effect infects municipal, county, state, and national level of politicians. It gets worse as they get closer to larger governments, as in Trenton and the DC swamp. This is why our condition will not change because humanity is as benighted now as it was in the Dark Ages.
