Cape May County has a pervasive litter problem impacting quality of life for residents and visitors. Litter also diminishes tourism. Given the importance of tourism to our local economy, I urge government officials and civic leaders to implement programmatic measures to eliminate common litter by prevention and remediation. Suggestion: implement countywide curbside collection of trash and recycling in large, covered containers serviced by trucks equipped with mechanical pick-up, operated by a contractor administered under a consolidated services agreement.
