Cape Express brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars to the city of Wildwood. Parking meters and hotel tax alone are more than the fee the city wants to charge. They set up and clean up after themselves because they care about the entire Cape May County community. They bring in up to 100,000 people on an off-weekend. They are families that spend more than is spent on the Fourth of July. Parking lots charge twice the normal rate, hotels charge holiday rates and they still come. It is sad that the administration wants to push out a local, child-oriented, family-friendly event.
