The book 'Wild Neighbors' contains tested strategies on how to live humanely with our wild neighbors like raccoons, skunks, possum, deer, etc. The book includes ways to discourage their unappreciated presence in your yard. The Humane Society of the United States has much of the same information on their site. Given the rural character of our county, an abundance of wildlife is to be expected; people actually enjoy their presence and live here because of it. Most of these animals have learned to live, even in populated areas.
