I had the opportunity to observe a geothermal system being drilled today. Interesting how the earth, only 10’ down, is between 50 -60 degrees, and the system cools and heats with it by circulating geothermal fluid through pipes in a loop. The operator said on a day like today, the system could easily dump heat into the earth, and return fluid at 55 degrees to easily cool a home. Fascinating!
