Clermont - No comments or spouts allowed without Facebook or Twitter accounts? I object! I decide what information about me is available to the 'net.' Why must I register my comments through this privacy invading service?
Moderator's Note:
Facebook authentication is required for comments on articles and comments on spouts. If you're submitting a spout, no authentication is required, as they are anonymous. Twitter is not an option. Again, most news sites require some form of registration to post comments. To comment on our old site, a site registration was required. People complained about having to create a user account, and those actions required a degree of administration from us. Many people already have a Facebook account; for those people, no additional registration is required to comment on our website. For those who don’t have a Facebook account, one can be easily created at no charge.
