Cape May - Why is the City of Cape May exempt from basic safety rules ? The entire promenade doesn’t have a railing, but every home or business, isn’t that a basic requirement to install one on a deck or porch if above a certain height? City may claim aesthetics but just wait until someone flies off, especially after they installed brand new asphalt! And it’s a miracle no one has been hurt thus far with all of the exposed metal and deterioration of old bulk head towards the East end of town.
