Was there a public hearing on the decision to locate the new pol

Cape May - Was there a public hearing on the decision to locate the new police station on the corner of St. John's St. and Lafayette? Wasn't that area already designated as a metered parking lot for the new park? Shouldn't the police station be located over at the West Cape May Borough Hall. Plenty of room there? Have that as the courtroom too! Was this a backroom decision. No public input?
