Cape May - Trump stated that he was presenting U.S. farmers with a huge lump of Thanksgiving cash thanks to his tariffs on Chinese goods. This may be so, but the cash does not come from China. It comes from U.S. industries that use Chinese imports. They pay the tariff, not China. A tariff is imposed to try to get U S. companies to use goods from elsewhere by making them pay more for the Chinese products. This additional cost must then be passed onto the U.S. consumer. Trump is, in reality, robbing from Peter to pay Paul. Don't be fooled into thinking any tariff money came from China.
