Cape May - The story of bike locks cut does not tell the whole story. All four were walking together when I saw them and it was the exact area all the bikes were removed. Second, the person I know received a $100 fine, not $50. Third, the handlebars protruding were on the rack at a level of about 8 feet above the ground (how many people in town are that tall). People I know have parked here for over 30 years. The lack of warning or notice is what has people upset. It was a mean-spirited thing to do and could have been handled differently. The city added more bike racks after this, but not enough.
