Cape May - To a spouter from Cape May and his/her comment on the beaches being full of broken sea shells, seaweed, etc., please understand that during beach replenishment, the sand being pumped in from offshore contains shells and stones that will take years to break down to the fine sand normally found on beaches like the Wildwoods. Seaweeds and other marine debris are brought to shore with the currents and waves. The beach sweeper does its job in the evening and sometimes by morning marine debris can show up on the beach. Just mother nature doing her thing. Enjoy our town and beach.
