A sergeant to chief of police?

Cape May - A sergeant to chief of police? With one of the most educated and respected officers sitting as captain? Someone needs to check into this. I am sure the new appointment would be a fine leader in time but with no experience how can any one of the sergeants who were interviewed be fit to run a police outfit in a city like Cape May? We as residents are in big trouble; the lawsuit settlement is growing and guess who's paying for it? Could have saved a ton of money by reinstating the captain and making the progression normal for the administration.
