Cape May - The second amendment says, "A well-regulated militia, doing necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." This doesn't give an individual the unregulated right to own guns but rather it gives local, state and federal governments the right to use its citizens to establish defensive, armed forces like police and military. Most of the gun owners I know are not police officers or soldiers. They have guns simply because they want guns. If you're going to quote the second amendment, quote the whole thing.
