Cape May - The Russian hacking has not provided enough distraction to stop some folks spouting about the Electoral College. Folks should realize that the states elect the president. Although the concept of states' rights fades more and more every decade. The Constitution was written at a time when the albeit limited sovereignty of each of those states was significant. The Tenth Amendment protects that. The interests of the millions of voters in California are not the same as the voters in Michigan or Pennsylvania. Yes, we share a common destiny, but our nation was never designed to be a pure democracy.

Moderator's Note:
With diversity being such a big issue these days in the minds of many, let’s not forget that one of the benefits of the Electoral College is to preserve the diversity of our various states by giving even the littlest of them a modicum of say in Washington.
