Cape May - In response to a spout about vacation homeowners being able to vote, someone said "Voting is for people who reside here, go to council meetings year round, and know and help their neighbors. Poor Cape May is so far from being a real town now that voting locally feels like the only little bit of power we have left. It's more than what your tax money is spent on, it's also the folks we elect to lead us." The problem is that the vacation homeowners are paying dozens of times more taxes than many residents. Their money gets spent with no regard for their interests. Helping neighbors means nothing.
