Cape May - Re: pensioners who are allowed to collect a pension and work in government in New Jersey, this is double dipping. It is not allowed in most states and corporations. It was an oversight and loophole when the pension system was created. Only legislation can change this law. Collecting a pension and a salary may affect property taxes. It would discourage job creation for new employees. Many government retirees would welcome the opportunity to collect a salary and a pension for five or 10 years. Having connections and networks, it's an easy guess they would be employed first.
