Cape May - Norman Lear was certainly "woke" when he launched his real-world sitcoms in the 1970s, especially All In The Family. Lear, a unabashed liberal, also flew 50 combat missions in WWII, and continued his fight against, racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, and hate his whole life. Now that's a true American and role model!
