Cape May - My 88 year old neighbor can't afford her $540 Januvia medication for diabetes this month. Medicare and Cigna don't cover this medication anymore. Her bills are rent $620, Medicare premium $180, secondary Mail-handlers/Cigna $240, incontinence supplies $320 and food costs about $200 a month. She's housebound and lives in a building with 2 social service coordinators and a nurse. She's a devout Catholic and although unable to attend church she sends a monthly envelope of $500. She has about $40 a month after expenses. I wonder how the church spends her $500 a month??? Who needs $$$ more???
