Documents that may tend to prove the attorney Cohen committed crime are fair game, but documents that relate to the guilt or innocence of any of his clients are not. If his documents contain the smoking gun that can bring down Trump, they are not admissible. Any investigative leads that they provide are also inadmissible as fruit of the poisoned tree. This is very bad. What is wrong with the FBI and the U.S. attorney?
