I've watched Cape May Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) mee

Cape May - I've watched Cape May Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) meetings online. They reject the sensible plans of many people, yet allow others to get away with outrageous plans. Are these committee members elected or are they volunteers? Also, a few of them are realtors, which doesn't make any sense. I'm beginning to think HPC stands for Hand-picked Committee.
