Cape May - If mayoral candidate Lear has such strong ideas on beach safety, why did his concerns just come to the surface? The DeSatnick family has been on a crusade for years and Lear has grabbed onto the cause for publicity. We all heard Aug. 25 from the experts that sand and beach slope stability is not unique to Cape May. The fact is all beach sand movements are a natural occurrence that may be altered by man-made obstructions, season changes, littoral drift, tides, etc. as Mother Nature determines. We live by the sea knowing its dangers and accept the risks. Help solve the drug problem instead.
