Cape May - I wonder how many other Herald readers noticed how Trump conveniently forgot to mention he was cutting the Coast Guard budget by $1.3 billion when he gave a graduation speech to Coast Guard officers last week. The entire business community in Cape May, Lower Township, and Middle Township sure did.
Moderator's Note:
U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo's Chief of Staff Jason Galanes, in an email to the Herald June 1, stated, "Because of blowback by Rep. LoBiondo and others within the Coast Guard community, the proposed cut was retracted. No cut was proposed to the Coast Guard when the President’s budget came out last week."
