Cape May - I can understand how persons who appear in "black face" can be viewed as highly derogatory. I also understand that persons impersonating people of other races and genders is not always mean spirited, demeaning or insulting. Does a child in a skeleton or ghost costume on Halloween demean the dead? Were Shawn and Damon Wayans demeaning whites in the film, "White Chicks?" Also, does wearing a costume as part of a skit or entertainment indicate the wearer has embodied the principles of the character portrayed? Was Werner Klemperer, a Jewish U.S. Army veteran, a Nazi because he portrayed Col. Kink?
