Cape May - I attended a flag retiring at the park Oct. 22 across from the DAV and it was an honor to be there. The DAV had a contest for sixth graders and the three winners were there and one read what the American flag means to him. He is the future of our community and it was so nice to see our young people be awarded. Sen. Jeff Van Drew attended, along with three of the freeholders and the Coast Guard Honor Guard. The only one missing was the Herald to report on this beautiful event and to see these young people be acknowledged for their SA they wrote. Congrats to the winner and the two runner-ups.
